1850-1860 Victorian blue glass pitcher. This large hand-blown pitcher with ruffled top and applied reeded handle has been hand-painted with enameled flowers in shades of pink, orange and green. The pontil remains unpolished (see photo). This is a beautiful pitcher.
It stands 10½ inches (27 cm) tall, 8 inches (20.5 cm) from handle to the tip of the spout and 6 inches (15.5 cm) in diameter at its widest.
There are no chips, cracks or missing enamel but there is minor wear to the gilt highlights, commensurate with its age, and obvious bubbles in the glass as a result of the manufacturing process.
