19th Century elephant and camel Leathley Lane Pottery drabware pitcher. An unusual and rare pitcher decorated in relief. It features two chariots leading a procession of camels and elephants surrounded by palm trees and foliage on a footed base. Camel or light beige colour on the exterior, white on the interior. The handle has a complementary moulded foliage shape. Unmarked. English (Leeds/Yorkshire). Circa 1860. We also have a mug in the same pattern. Description

19th Century elephant and camel Leathley Lane Pottery drabware pitcher. An unusual and rare pitcher decorated in relief. It features two chariots leading a procession of camels and elephants surrounded by palm trees and foliage on a footed base. Camel or light beige colour on the exterior, white on the interior. The handle has a complementary moulded foliage shape. Unmarked. English (Leeds/Yorkshire). Circa 1860.

Condition
Minor crazing. There are two small pea sized chips: one on the exterior spout and one on the interior rim. No cracks.
