19th century James Yates pewter tankard VR Mark. This pewter tankard has a cylindrical shape, with moulded girdles (bands) and a handle called an “Attention Terminal”. It is stamped with the maker’s mark, “JAMES YATES” next to the handle, together with Victoria Regina, quality and other weights and measures inspectors’ stamps. Made by James Yates in Birmington, England. Circa 1837-1876.

A few marks and scratches on one side commensurate with age. No holes or signs of repair. Beautiful dark patina. See photos for details.
