This antique English cranberry glass tankard was hand blown with a clear applied handle (circa 1880-1890.) Tankards for beer or wine were a popular table ware item at this time. Probably made in Bristol where most English ruby glass and what was referred to as “cherry glass” (or cranberry glass) was manufactured. This tankard was obtained from the estate of an antique glass collector in Kingston, Ontario.
