Antique footed Portneuf bowl with bird motifs. Also known as spongeware pottery. The bowl has a crimson rim band with a complex polychrome sponge motif in crimson, brown, yellow, and green which make up the decorative effect on the birds. There are three bird motifs evenly spaced around the circumference of the bowl. The outside border is highlighted with a purple fretwork edge. Dates to the mid-19th century, probably from Scotland.

Minor chip on the outside rim. Repair on the footed base. In overall good condition with no loss to the spongeware images.
