Antique Mason’s ironstone plate in the Pheasant pattern. A transfer-printed, hand-painted enamel plate with notched rim. In the centre is a pheasant standing on a rock surrounded by a floral landscape. The rim has a distinctive and intricate complimentary border in cobalt blue, vermillion, pink, purple, green, yellow and gilt. A vivid and sought after Asian-inspired pattern. Has the Mason’s crown mark with the inscription “Lallsup No 16 St Paul’s Church Yard, London”. Three hand-painted flowers also adorn the back of the plate. Circa 1840-45.
