About Coalport’s Indian Tree Pattern
The Coalport China factory created the Indian Tree design in 1801 and was one of the most popular designs during the last half of the 19th century. It was said to have been copied from earlier Indian textile patterns. The hand-painted over transfer print pattern includes the crooked branch of a tree against a landscape of exotic flowers and foliage. Manufactured in three styles: scalloped, semi-scalloped and smooth edges.
