Collection of 19th century art pottery fruit-shaped money banks. Seven earthenware money banks hand-moulded in the shape of various fruits. From left to right in the feature photograph is: a fig, apple, mango, pear, apple, peach and another apple. Banks like these were a popular saving device for children during the second half of the 19th century. Sold as a set of seven or individually. They make a striking display on a mantle or table. Probably American. Circa 1880.
Sizes range approximately from 4-5″ in width (10- 13 cm) to 4- 6 1/4″ (10-16 cm) in height
Minor scratches and wear. In overall very good condition for their age.
