Georgian ironstone china jug decorated in the elephant’s foot pattern. Circa 1820. This rare two hundred year old creamer is shaped in the style of Mason’s Fenton jug – an octagonal pitcher with a well-defined dragon handle. Even the dragons’ eyelashes and claws are finely carved. The jug is hand painted in cobalt blue and shades of rust, green and cream. The base is impressed with the words Ironstone China in block letters.
The jug measures 4¾ inches (12.5 cm) in height, and 4¾ inches (12.5 cm) from the spout to the back of the handle.
It is in amazing condition, considering its age, with no chips, cracks or crazing.
