Known in North America as the “Canton” pattern which originated from the city where it was exported. The inner rim border is known as “rain and cloud”. In Europe the same pattern is known as “Blue Willow”. This pair is hand painted and is a generous size. Unmarked. Dates to the third quarter of the 19th Century. Offered as a pair.

Pair of Chinese export antique plates in the “Canton” pattern. A pair of underglaze blue and white decorated Chinese export porcelain plates from the 19th century. Known in North America as the “Canton” pattern which originated from the city where it was exported. The inner rim border is known as “rain and cloud”. In Europe the same pattern is known as “Blue Willow”. This pair is hand painted and is a generous size. Unmarked. Dates to the third quarter of the 19th Century. Offered as a pair.

Diameter: 10 1/8″ (25.9 cm)

Condition
No chips, cracks, crazing or repairs. There are variances in the glaze which is not uncommon during this period. This is not considered damage but is noted. Although the same size in diameter, one of the plates is slightly deeper in dimension.
