Set of 6 Vintage Imari Pattern Demitasses and 6 Sterling Coffee Spoons. (1930’s era) This beautiful presentation set, complete in its original box, consists of six demitasse cups and saucers and six sterling coffee spoons. It was most likely a wedding present and has obviously been treasured because even the presentation box shows remarkably little wear. The cups and saucers were produced by Savoy China (England) in the traditional Imari pattern and have been very gently used. The sterling spoons are stamped on the back of each handle with an anchor, a lion rampant, the capital letter “E”, and the manufacturer’s initials — all of which means that the spoons were manufactured in Birmingham, England, by William Suckling Ltd. in the 1930’s. Each spoon handle is topped by a stylized coffee bean. The set was sold by Cross Brothers Silversmiths and Cutlers of Cardiff, Wales, and the business address can be found stamped on the inside lid of the presentation box.
