Tea Leaf gold clover large sugar bowls. We have two on offer, sold separately. These antique white ironstone sugar bowls are decorated in a variation of the Tea Leaf pattern known as “Cloverleaf.” The one with an acorn lid has a 3 leaf gilt clover motif featured on both sides with a raised vine and leaf pattern on the lid and around the handles. The other one has a 4 leaf clover with a raised swag motif on both sides. The larger size was made to accommodate large lumps of sugar which was common in the 19th century. Both pieces are unmarked and were probably made in England prior to 1891.
Height: 7 ” (18 cm)
Width from handle to handle: 7″ (18 cm)
Minor loss of gilt on both. Minor oxidation on the lid of the acorn bowl. The lid on the swag bowl has been repaired but is still in solid condition.
