Vintage gold-plated 835 silver (vermeil) and marcasite bracelet. Unmarked but most likely German made. This elaborate filigree bracelet is made up of seven panels, each panel depicting two blossoms separated by an elongated scroll that is, in turn, highlighted by seven marcasites. The tongue of the box clasp is stamped 835, which is a European mark that means the item is 83.5% silver mixed with an alloy of base metal to strengthen the silver.
The bracelet is 7¼ inches (18.5 cm) to the tip of the tongue and ¾ inch (2 cm) wide.
Other than some minor scuff marks on the tongue of the box clasp (see photo) the bracelet is immaculate: there are no missing marcasites and no missing, bent or broken bits of filigree. The box clasp is secure and the additional safety-catch functions well. This is an exquisite piece of jewellery.
